Kindness

Colton ate dinner in basketball shorts and no shirt tonight.  This is not that strange.  When he gets home from Tae Kwon Do he gets very concerned that he doesn’t soil his pristine white outfit so he changes into something else.

Lingering at my desk as I cleaned up the dishes, he said “Mom! I need to put my shoes on.”

I protested of course.  “Why Colton?” I asked in an annoyed tone.

“Because I wanted to put this on Axel’s stone.”

As if we needed confirmation of Colton’s incredibly kind heart.  He wrote this note:

Might not be legible to most, but I can translate for you:

I HOPE AXEL WAS BORN.

“He means a lot to me Mom.  I was supposed to have three brothers.”

And once again, Colton breaks my heart, in the best, most endearing way.
